I'm on a neverending quest to quit my day job. I have an Etsy shop (view), where I sell art and hemp jewelry, I write articles at Helium (view) and freelance at Constant Content (view), and I've gotten back into fan fiction (view), because it will always, always be a guilty pleasure. Right now, I'm all over Torchwood, mainly because it's a mountain of potential with a lot of holes to patch up. I'm also the chickie who made all those numbered "Hysterical Woman" icons. Thanks for the fame, RTD! :P Writing's my one end to which all other private endeavours are means, admittedly often distant means connected by slim threads of rationalization. I want to write books. Novels, short stories. I'm a determinedly free-thinking (and occasionally grouchy) atheist, a fan of Dennett, Dawkins, Hitchens and Harris. I'm the only human in my family - I have three cats (Griever, my grey lion, 4 years old; Mulder and Scully, white and coffee-swirled fraternal twins, under a year old). We drive one another insane in a bachelor apartment in a 90-year-old 4-storey building with an elevator that looks like it was drudged up from the Titanic. We do not want children. I spend a lot of time on my roof looking at the Detroit skyline and smoking to the sounds of occasional gunshots. I have to - it's pretty, and I'm a brooding writer. It's like sitting in the sky. And oh, the storms. I'm sort-of seeing someone right now. He's special. I call him Boy on LJ because I don't want to use his name; he's older than me. |
